Stucco painting
Stucco drinks paint and shows every patch, so it gets cleaned, repaired, and coated with a masonry-grade product that flexes instead of cracking through a freeze and thaw winter.
Deck staining
Decks are sanded back, cleaned, and given two coats of penetrating stain. We match the tone to your siding and tell you honestly when a board needs replacing before it is worth staining.
Wood siding and cedar shakes
Cedar shakes and wood siding either get a solid stain or a full sand, stain, and refinish, depending on how the wood has weathered. We walk the elevation with you before choosing.
Garage doors
Garage doors take the most sun and the most road salt of any surface on a house. Prepped, primed where bare, and finished in a hard-wearing coating that will not chalk out in two seasons.
Wood beam refinishing
Timber frame beams, posts, and exposed trusses, stripped or sanded and refinished. Fine detail work, usually on the entrance a house is remembered for, so it is never rushed.
Cottage staining and maintenance

What is included in a MountainWood estimate?
A walkthrough of the property with you, a written scope listing every surface we will touch, the products we will use on each one, a schedule, and a fixed price. The number you approve is the number you pay. Proof of insurance comes with it.
Do you help choose colours?
Yes, and it costs nothing. Every project includes a free colour consultation with a Benjamin Moore colour specialist. We will also tell you when a colour will not behave the way you expect: some shades that look right on a chip fade badly on a south-facing exterior.
What paint do you use?
Benjamin Moore, in two full coats, on effectively every job. Cedar shakes and weathered wood get Benjamin Moore Woodluxe solid stain. Better products cost a little more up front and buy years of extra life on a Georgian Bay exterior.
How do you prepare surfaces before painting?
Prep is where a paint job succeeds or fails, so it is the part we never compress. Surfaces are washed, sanded, patched, caulked, and primed where bare before any finish coat goes on. On exteriors that regularly means a week of prep before the first drop of colour.
Do you move furniture and protect floors?
We move what can be moved, cover what cannot, and mask floors, trim, and fixtures before starting. The site is tidied at the end of every day rather than only at the end of the job, so you can still live in the house while we work.
What happens if it rains during an exterior project?
We stop. Paint applied to a damp surface or ahead of a storm will not cure properly and fails early. Crews return the next workable day, and rain days are built into the schedule you are given, so a wet week does not change your price.
