Painters in Blue Mountain

Chalets, cottages, and year round homes across The Blue Mountains. A lot of our work up here happens between seasons, while the place is empty and nobody is trying to use it.

A Full Chalet Interior in Blue Mountain

A full interior re-paint of their home, plus a full interior paint job of their newly built addition. Walls, ceilings, trim, and doors throughout, finished in Benjamin Moore so the new addition and the original house read as one building rather than two.

  • Interior painting
  • New build painting
  • Custom home painting

A Blue Mountain chalet owner

Jake and the team at Mountain Wood Painting did a great job of the interior of our chalet in The Blue Mountains. Aleks' attention to detail was outstanding and their customer service was on point. I would definitely recommend their services and would hire them again!

Chalets, Cedar, and Working Around Your Season

More of our documented projects are in The Blue Mountains than anywhere else, and they are not all the same job. Full chalet interiors before a season starts. Cedar shakes that have gone silver on the windward side. New additions that need to end up looking like they were always part of the house.

The thing that makes work up here different is timing. If the place earns its keep as a rental, or if you only use it half the year, there is usually a window where painting is easy and a window where it is impossible. Tell us which is which and we will build the schedule around it rather than around ours.

  • Chalet and cottage interiors
  • Cedar shake staining and refinishing
  • Full exteriors and new additions
  • Booked around your rental season
  • We can hold keys and send progress photos
  • Benjamin Moore, two full coats

How a Job Runs in The Blue Mountains

Four steps, the same on every job, booked around your season. If the place is empty we can hold keys and send photos as it goes.

  1. Fill out a form

Fill out the form and we will contact you within 24 hours. We come to your home or cottage, anywhere, walk the project with you, and send a written quote with a fixed price within 1 to 2 business days. Once the project is confirmed, we book it into our schedule for a date that works for you.

  2. We prep and protect your home

Prep is where a paint job succeeds or fails, so we never rush it. Interior, exterior, and commercial projects all require unique and specific preparation procedures. When you hire MountainWood Painting, you know it will be done right.

  3. Paint built for our winters

Premium products chosen for each surface, and clean lines at every edge. Your siding takes Georgian Bay weather all winter, so we pick the finish that will still look right next spring.

  4. We walk it with you at the end

We check every surface with you before we call it done, then pack up, sweep, and leave your place ready to live in. If something is not right, we fix it while we are still there.

Schedule a Free Estimate & Consultation for Your Property

Tell us about the chalet and the dates that cannot move. We will come out, measure, and put a fixed price and a schedule in writing, built around your bookings.

  • Free colour consultation

Sit down with a Benjamin Moore colour specialist before a single wall is taped.

  • A fixed price in writing

Every job priced before we start, so the number you approve is the number you pay.

  • No pressure, no obligation

Take the quote, think it over, compare it. We would rather you were sure.

Painting in The Blue Mountains

Can you work while the chalet is empty?

That is how we prefer to do it. An empty place is faster, cheaper to protect, and gives a better finish because we are not working around anybody. We can hold keys, coordinate with your property manager, and send photos as it goes.

Can you fit around our rental bookings?

Yes. Tell us the dates that cannot move and we will build the schedule around them before you sign anything. Shoulder season is usually the easiest time to get booked and the easiest time to work.

Our cedar has gone grey. Does it need replacing?

Usually not. Weathered cedar normally takes a solid stain, and on some elevations a full sand and refinish. We have done exactly that job up here, using solid stain on part of a house and refinishing the rest. It is a decision we make standing in front of the building, not from a photo.

Everything we paint, inside and out

Four core services carry most of our work: interior and exterior house painting, commercial work, and custom homes. Ten years of residential painting across Collingwood, Blue Mountain, Thornbury, and Creemore, on houses, cottages, chalets, and the businesses in between. Pick one to see how we handle it and what is included.

Also: stucco painting, deck staining, wood siding, garage doors, wood beam refinishing, and cottage staining and maintenance.
